fuccckkk ive been playing diablo through DevilutionX and it’s had my mind going, i love hack and slash arpgs so much. I need to finish Nox one day, and finished Torchlight 2 so want to go back and play 1. I want to put my spin on it without going too far, loose ideas so far:
instead of going down into the dungeon under the church you’re going up into this impossible tower in the rock desert, dark sand underneath, mountains in the distance, think this image
summoner / magic class spell for pikmin esque characters (picture them on fire or drowning in particular)
survival mode, tower door locks behind you, town portals don’t work, stock up once and then survive on the fat of the tower
special wine: orbular bottle, monty label, fat cork “poommp” noise, dark wine red fumes,
do these sound nuts so far? they do to me, will try to get some art on the page, think these images too, though the tower is dark inside i’m thinking there’s a poisoned light enemy, or big baddy.
far out seeing these next three i’m not opposed to making it above the water instead of a dark sand desert, the tower idea after thinking of the opposite of diablo immediately went to myst3
i might make it on a beach even, i think that is the hardest of the three but would be great, so many black beaches i could use as inspo too.
i think it’d be harder to make the water look good, although look good can be pretty loose
i’m thinking the low sci-fi that vampire hunter d bloodlust has, that bizarre but alluring mix it has into science fantasy, there’s guns but they’re not the focus. love it.
