Just watched Ninja Scroll, first and foremost i think its treatment of women is dreadful, i found that alot of the film was right up my alley otherwise. The pace is nuts, felt like vampire hunter d bloodlust on crack, kawajiri had so many characters to mow through. Really liked the cliffside seaside bits, and certain moments that didn’t have any music. Adding it to the inspo list, and gets pretty close to being on my favs list. The rendering of humans is sooo good and often funny, as a friend put it i miss when anime characters had noses, well theyve got definition plus in this one HAHAHA. looking forward to watching the rest of his films.
